BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State women's coach Kristen Gillespie and men's coach Dan Muller, will air tonight, live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM, on GoRedbirds.com, or on the TuneIn app. The coaches will be talking about their season to date, and previewing the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference season.
The Kristen Gillespie show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts the night at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by junior guard Katrina Beck. The women's team (4-4) is coming off of a nine-point win over Eastern Michigan, in which it held the Eagles to three first-quarter points, and 12 over the first half. Beck, who was named the Missouri Valley Player of the Week after she eclipsed the 500 career point mark against Eastern Michigan, is averaging 8.9 points per game on the season, to go with 4.9 rebounds and 26 assists.
The Dan Muller show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by junior guard Keyshawn Evans. The men's team (4-6) travels to Oxford, Mississippi, on Saturday to face off against the Ole Miss Rebels in a 2:30 p.m. tip-off. Evans leads the Redbirds in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game, and is one of the elite shooters in NCAA Division I basketball, as his three-point makes (35) ranks 14th, his three-point makes per game (3.50) ranks 21st, and his three-point field goal percentage (.493) ranks 25th.
Fans are invited to watch Tuesday's show live at the Hy-Vee Market Grille, located at: 1403 N. Veterans Parkway, in Bloomington. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230-AM, on GoRedbirds.com, and via the TuneIn app.
