NORMAL, Ill. – Tickets are available for two special luncheons featuring Illinois State head men's basketball Coach Dan Muller.
The first luncheon is on Tuesday, Dec. 19 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Legends Room in Redbird Arena, and will also feature UIC head men's basketball coach Steve McClain. The second luncheon, which will be in the Hancock Stadium Club, is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 17, also from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., and the second luncheon will feature Bradley head men's basketball coach Brian Wardle.
Organized by the Illinois State Men's Basketball Insiders Club, the Muller Luncheon Series is being held in conjunction with the Dec. 19 game against UIC, and the Jan. 17 game against Bradley, each game held at Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. Muller and the coaches will share stories and field questions related to their experiences as fellow college basketball coaches.
Luncheon tickets are available to the public on a limited basis for $60 each by contacting a Weisbecker Scholarship Fund representative at (309) 438-3803. A table of eight can also be booked for $450, or a table of four for $240.
The buffet menu for the Dec. 19 luncheon includes roast beef and rotisserie pork loin, tossed salad, mashed potatoes and oven roasted vegetables. The menu for the Jan. 17 luncheon includes sautéed herb chicken, mixed green salad, herb roasted potatoes, steamed green beans and fresh baked dinner rolls.
McClain is in his second season at the helm of the UIC program, after spending five seasons on the men's basketball staff at Indiana. He also went 157-115 in nine seasons as head coach at Wyoming, and has also spent time on the coaching staffs at Colorado, TCU, and Hutchinson Community College.
Wardle is in his third season with the Bradley Braves. Before taking charge of the Bradley program, he spent five seasons as head coach at Green Bay where he had a 95-65 record and the 2014 Horizon League Coach of the Year. He also spent time on the coaching staffs at Marquette as director of operations, and as an assistant coach at Green Bay.
