BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team fell, 5-2, Sunday at the Bloomington Tennis Center against Northern Illinois. The squad's record is now 4-9.
NIU claimed the doubles point as Georg Lundkvist and Eric Marbach defeated Andreas Boers and Urh Krajnc Domiter, 6-2. The doubles team of Peter Foersom and Matias Chomali came back to defeat Carlos Manzanas and Bor Schweiger Muzar, 6-3. However, Louis-Philippe Hamel and Tom Hjertonsson concluded doubles by defeating Dylan Steffens and Egehan Sertkaya, 6-3.
In singles play, Krajnc Domiter defeated Eric Marbach, 3-6, 7-5, 10-5. Boers defeated Tom Hjertonsson, 6-2, 7-5. Georg Lundkvist defeated Steffens, 6-2, 7-5. Carlos Manzanas defeated Sertkaya, 6-3, 6-4. Louis-Philippe Hamel defeated Chomali, 6-3, 6-1. Austin Russell defeated Foersom, 7-6, 6-3.
