NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) will host its second-annual Minute-to-Win-it Challenge April 20 at 7 p.m. in Horton Field House, where the student-athlete group will collect canned goods to benefit Home Sweet Home Ministries. The public is invited to attend, free of charge.
Illinois State students are encouraged to come cheer on their favorite student-athletes compete as teams in fun and entertaining games. The team that collects the most canned goods for donation will win any potential tiebreaker between teams.
"If you are looking for an opportunity to watch a fun night of the Redbird student-athletes competing against one another in something other than sports, then the SAAC Minute-to-Win-it Challenge will be something you would enjoy," said Illinois State SAAC President Jake Kolbe, who also serves as Illinois State's male SAAC representative to the Missouri Valley Conference.
Illinois State's chapter of SAAC is composed of student-athletes from each team. Student-athletes are appointed by their respective coaches. The purpose of the SAAC is to serve as a liaison between the athletic teams and the athletic administration, in the development of support services and enrichment programs for student-athletes.
