Des Moines, Iowa – The Illinois State men's tennis team was defeated by Drake, 7-0 on Saturday at the Miracle Hills Tennis Center.
Drake claimed the doubles point as Ben Stride and Bayo Philips defeated Urh Krajnc Domiter and Matias Chomali, 6-2. Vinny Gillespie and Barnaby Thorold topped Andreas Boers and Egehan Sertkaya, 6-1. Tom Hands and Ben Clark beat Dylan Steffens and Christoffer Greve, 6-4.
In singles, Vinny Gillespie defeated Krajnc Domiter, 6-1, 6-1. Steffens fell to Bayo Philips, 7-6, 6-1. Boers was topped by Tom Hands, 7-6, 7-6. Barnaby Thorold beat Chomali, 6-1, 6-1. Greve was defeated by Ben Wood in a retired match, 6-1, 3-1. Sertkaya fell to Ben Clark, 6-2, 6-3.
