NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's soccer team (1-3-1) was unable to come up with the equalizer Friday night as they fell, 1-0, at Duquesne (2-2-0).
After the Redbirds allowed a goal in the first 10 minutes of the match, they were unable to make a comeback for the win. ISU outshot Duquesne 21-13, with seniors Kelli Zickert and Emily Dickman leading the Redbirds with five shots each. Freshman Ashley Santos followed suit with three shots. Sophomore keeper Haley Smith tallied six saves between the pipes.
ISU will stay in Pittsburgh for the weekend and return to action Sunday at noon, facing Pittsbrugh. Fans unable to attend Sunday's match will be able to follow along on Twitter, @Redbird_Soccer, via live stats, and watch live with the ACC Network.
