NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team will open the 2017-18 season when it hosts Indiana State for a dual meet Saturday at 12 p.m. at Horton Pool.
Illinois State is back in action two weeks after its annual Red and White Intrasquad Meet, where the White team came out on top, 109-107.
"I'm very excited for the meet this upcoming weekend against Indiana State," said head swimming coach Scott Cameron. "This meet will be a great opportunity for our athletes to get their first races of the season under their belts against a good conference opponent."
Head diving coach Phil Hoffmann is looking forward to watching the divers compete in their first dual meet of the season this weekend.
"I can't wait to get into the dual meet portion of our season, as well as to compete against an MVC team," said Hoffmann. "I believe the divers are ready to rise to this first challenge."
Saturday's meet will mark the second of five home meets held at Horton Pool this season.
The Redbirds will return to the water for a double-dual meet against Lewis and Illinois Wesleyan in Romeoville, Illlinois, on Oct. 7.
