Illinois State Baseball Hosting Future Redbird Youth Camps

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team will host three sessions of its annual Future Redbird Youth Camp this summer, open to children entering grades 1-9 in the fall. The camps will be held under the direction of Illinois State head baseball coach Bo Durkac, his staff and current Illinois State players. 

Each session of the camp will be held between Monday and Thursday, and are scheduled for: June 11-14, June 18-21 and June 25-28. The camps will be held at Duffy Bass Field, home of the Illinois State baseball team.

Each day of camp will start with drop-off between 8:30-9 a.m. and conclude with pick-up at 3-3:30 p.m. Each day will begin with a stretching session, followed by instruction on throwing, hitting and defense, and games and competitions before lunch. Pizza, drinks and snacks will be available for sale during the 30-minute lunch period. Each afternoon of camp will feature live game play.  

Each camper will receive an official camp T-shirt, and awards and prizes will be given out throughout each camp session. 

The goal of this camp is to teach young players proper baseball fundamentals in a fun and energetic atmosphere.
