Illinois State Basketball to Host Hoopfest on Friday, Oct. 12

NORMAL, Ill. – During Illinois State Homecoming week, Redbird fans can watch the 2018-19 ISU men's and women's basketball teams on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena for the first time at the annual Hoopfest season tip-off event, Friday, Oct. 12, beginning after the conclusion of the women's volleyball match against Valparaiso.

Hoopfest is free and open to the public. Hoopfest will include a preview of the men's and women's basketball teams, a dunk contest, a three-point contest, scrimmages, and an autograph session for fans. 

Parking is free and available in lots surrounding Redbird Arena. One fan in attendance will be selected to shoot a half-court shot with the chance to win free Papa John's Pizza for a year.  

One lucky student will also have the chance to win free rent for an entire year courtesy of Edge Apartments. In addition, Edge Apartments has sponsored free t-shirts for the first 500 students in attendance. 

Before the start of the evening, the 2018 student Homecoming court will be introduced and the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned, which will be followed by the introduction of the men's and women's basketball squads.

Single-game tickets for both men's and women's basketball are set to go on sale to Weisbecker Scholarship Fund donors starting on Monday, Oct. 15, and to the public on Thursday, Oct. 18.
