NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State University's trademark licensing program and Redbird Athletics, working in conjunction with IMG College Licensing, are excited to announce the launch of the new College Vault line of vintage Redbird merchandise.
The College Vault is a vintage-inspired merchandise program that pays homage to the University's historical trademarks and traditions through fashion-forward apparel and non-apparel products. As a response to social media chatter among Redbird fans, Illinois State decided to relaunch its vintage program for the first time in more than five years.
"October seemed like a natural time for the launch of our College Vault partnership with IMG College Licensing," says Dani Schroeder, manager of trademark licensing. "With Homecoming week upon us and the crossover between the football and basketball seasons, there seemed no better time to generate some excitement for our fans and alumni with a nostalgic throwback to our rich history here at Illinois State."
Included in the College Vault merchandise line are logos from over the years at Illinois State—the more recognizable "thumbs-up" Reggie, hailing from the 1990s, the running basketball Redbird of the 70s, the I-State logo from the Doug Collins era in Athletics, the triple-Redbird ISU mark, and the "State" of Illinois outline.
"We are excited to support Illinois State's commitment to its fans and are proud to work with them to deliver unique, vintage-branded merchandise to Redbirds everywhere," said Nicole Armentrout, IMG College Licensing's VP of Marketing. "The College Vault collection was established to give Illinois State an avenue to merchandise its historic logos, which can be very popular with fans, and help tell the story of the University and its tradition."
Illinois State College Vault merchandise is available at the Alamo II on campus and the College Vault Redbird online shop, with plans to expand to more local retailers.
