NORMAL, Ill. – The regular season comes to a close Saturday at Hancock Stadium, when the Redbirds host Youngstown State on Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day. ISU head coach Brock Spack will preview this week's matchup against the Penguins on Thursday at The Brock Spack Show, live from Schooners in Bloomington, beginning at 6 p.m.
Illinois State (5-5, 2-5 MVFC) will look to end the season on a good note with a victory to secure its ninth season in the last ten with a .500 record or above. The Penguins (4-6, 3-4 MVFC) head to Normal fresh off a Senior Day victory over UNI last weekend that put the Panthers' playoff hopes in serious jeopardy. ISU owns a 14-13 advantage over YSU in the all-time series and has won four of the last six contests overall.
Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz and they will welcome senior captain Jake Kolbe to the show as this week's player guest. The four-year letterwinner at quarterback for the Redbirds and two-time captain heads into his final game ranked in the top 10 in nearly every career passing category at ISU.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington, and sits just off the corner of Grove Street and Clinton Boulevard. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com. Fans can also listen to the show via the TuneIn app by searching "Illinois St. Redbirds Sports Network."
Fans are encouraged to watch on Facebook and submit questions for this week's Q&A with Coach Spack presented by Country Financial. Tune into the Illinois State Athletics Facebook page at 6:30 p.m. to ask questions and watch to see if Coach Spack answers them on the live broadcast.
