Redbird soccer's Abby Basler and Alissa Ramsden were named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Tournament Team, the conference announced Sunday at the conclusion of the championships.
Basler, a redshirt sophomore, netted the gamewinner in Illinois State's opening round victory over Missouri State and combined for over 160 minutes of play during the Redbirds' postseason run. The All-MVC First Team midfielder finished the season leading the 'Birds in several offensive categories, including, goals (5, tied with Kate Del Fava), assists (4, tied with Natalie Vaughn-Low), shots on goal (29) and game winning goals (3).
Ramsden went a full 90 minutes in each tournament match on the back line for the Redbirds, helping manage the opposing team's offense. The sophomore tallied five shots in her sophomore season, putting four of them on goal, and adding an assist.
Illinois State was eliminated from the MVC Soccer Championships Friday night in the semifinals by the eventual champions, Loyola, in a 2-1 heartbreaker.
