THE SERIES
• The Redbirds are 31-42 overall when facing the Bears. The Birds are 18-18 at home, 12-22 at Missouri State and 1-2 at a neutral site.
• The teams most recently met on Jan. 12, 2018 at Redbird Arena and the Birds dropped 56-50.
• This is the second time Coach Gillespie and Coach Harper will meet.
REDBIRD BITS
• Illinois State enters the game on a three-game win streak, which is the most conference wins in a row the program has seen in four years. The last time the program secured 11 total wins was in the 2013-14 season.
• The Birds held the Salukis to 36 points on Friday, which is the lowest amount of points put in by the Salukis this season.
• Hannah Green led the Birds Friday night with 12 points and eight rebounds. The senior forward also tied her season high of rejected shots in a game, denying five. Green leads the MVC, averaging 2.2 blocked shots per game.
• After last night's defensive performance, the Birds moved up one spot to sit fifth in the nation for scoring defense, allowing 53.6 points per game. The Birds remain at sixth in the nation for field goal percentage defense, holding their opponents to an average of 33.9 percent.
• Green, Goods and Katrina Beck have each had noteworthy performances this season, earning them MVC Player of the Week Honors.
• Megan Talbot, Livingston and Green are all in the top ten of the MVC for rebounding.
 SCOUTING THE BEARS
• Missouri State enters the game after defeating the Bradley Braves with a margin of 20 points. Liza Fruendt led for the Bears with 22 points and four rebounds. Fruendt leads the MVC in scoring, averaging 16.3 points per game. In Friday night's victory Fruendt also scored her 221st career 3-pointer, which tied with Jackie Stiles for fifth in school history.
• MSU sits second in the conference, owning a 9-3 MVC record. They dropped to No. 1 Drake twice and Southern Illinois in overtime earlier this season.
• The Bears are ranked first in the Valley for offensive rebounds, averaging 13.2 per game, Illinois State averages 10.8.
