NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State volleyball team finished with its eight-consecutive winning season in 2017, and Redbird fans now have the chance to get their season tickets secured to be a part of the action at Redbird Arena next season.
The Redbirds will play 10 home contests at Redbird Arena in 2018, with an exhibition game against DePaul set for August 18 to kick off the year. The regular season home-opening weekend is slated for Sept. 28-29 against Evansville and Indiana State. Illinois State will open its largest home stand of the season on Oct. 12 versus Valparaiso, playing five games spanning over two-consecutive weekends and wrapping up with Missouri Valley Conference rival Missouri State on Oct. 20. The program will celebrate the team's five seniors – Ali Line, Courtney Pence, Jordan Weatherless, Lexi Wallen and Lexi Varga – in the final pair of home matches on the weekend of Nov. 2-3.Â
General admission adult season tickets are available for just $50. Children 12 years old and younger can receive free admission to all regular-season home contests with a Reggie's Kids Club membership card, which can be registered for free on the club's website. Season ticket holders that make a $100 contribution to the Weisbecker Scholarship Fund will also receive a parking pass, valid for the 2018 volleyball season, for the F62 lot right outside of Redbird Arena. Illinois State is coming off its third 20-win season in five years that ended in postseason play – the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC). The Redbirds return 11 to the 2018 roster, including All-American and All-MVC First Team member Courtney Pence and the league's Freshman of the Year Stef Jankiewicz. Head coach Leah Johnson will enter second season at the helm of the Redbird program in 2018, after guiding Illinois State to a top-15 national finish in several statistical categories in 2017.
