Redbirds in the Pros: Ryan Court Completes Cycle and Extends Hitting Streak

Des Moines, Ia. – Ryan Court completed the cycle for the Iowa Cubs on Friday, July 20th, becoming the most recent player to accomplish the rare feat for the organization since Robin Jennings on August 15th, 1997.

Court got the night going in the bottom of the second inning with a single to right field. Court doubled to right field to lead off the bottom of the fourth, and then Court homered in the bottom of the seventh inning. He completed the cycle in the bottom of the eighth inning with a triple down the right field line. Court finished the game 4-5 with two RBIs and four runs scored.

On the year, Court is slashing .282/.355/.477 with 14 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, 43 RBIs and 35 runs. Court ranks in the top five for the Iowa Cubs in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs, and runs. He is also on a 17-game hitting streak.

Brock Stewart | Triple-A | Oklahoma City Dodgers (Los Angeles Dodgers)

  • Currently 2-2 with a 3.04 ERA in 11 starts with 43 strikeouts and 15 walks spanning 50.1 innings.
  • Went five innings, giving up seven hits, one run, striking out five and walking one in a win at the Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics on July 21.

  • Batting .282/.355/.477 with 14 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, 43 RBIs and 35 runs.
  • Went 3-4 with two RBIs in a 3-1 win versus the New Orleans Baby Cakes on July 22.
  • Currently on a 17-game hitting streak.

Jeremy Rhoades | Triple-A | Salt Lake Bees (Los Angeles Angels)

  • Owns a 7-3 record with one save posting a 3.36 ERA in 36 appearances spanning 56.1 innings in Double and Triple-A.
  • Pitched one and one-third innings of relief, as he struck out one and walked one. Rhoades earned the win at the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners on July 22.

Eric Aguilera | Triple-A, Mexican League | Algodoneros Union Laguna

  • Batting .296/.358/.535 with five doubles, four home runs, 22 RBIs and 12 runs.
  • Went 1-4 at Bravos de Leon in a 10-8 loss on July 22.

Will Headean | Class A | Fort Wayne TinCaps (San Diego Padres)

  • Currently on the seven-day disabled list.

Ryan Koziol | Class A | Augusta GreenJackets (San Francisco Giants)

  • Appeared in 15 games with a 0-0 record and a 2.55 ERA spanning 24.2 innings.
  • Hasn't played since July 3. Currently on the seven-day disabled list.

Owen Miller | Class A Short-Season | Tri-City Dust Devils (San Diego Padres)

  • Slashing .315/.355/.434 with five doubles, three triples, two home runs, 14 RBIs and 16 runs.
  • Went 2-4 in a 5-4 win versus the Eugene Emeralds, the Class A Short-Season affiliate of the Chicago Cubs on July 22.

Jean Ramirez | Rookie | Princeton Rays (Tampa Bay Rays)

  • Appeared in seven games with a run, four walks, and an on-base percentage of .250.
  • Went 0-1 in a 8-4 loss versus the Kingsport Mets, the Rookie-level affiliate of the New York Mets on July 18.

Jack Landwehr | Frontier League | Normal CornBelters

  • Compiled a 4-3 record with a 3.65 ERA in 10 games with nine starts with 40 strike outs and nine walks over 51.2 innings.
  • Went two and two-thirds innings, giving up nine hits, seven runs, one strike out and one walk in an 11-2 loss at the Schaumburg Boomers on July 21.
