NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State softball head coach Melinda Fischer announced on Friday that the program will host several camps ahead of the 2019 season. The first camp is set to take place on Sunday, Sept. 9, with the last on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019.
"The Next Level" Camp | Sunday, Sept. 9 | 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Grades 9-12 | $150 | Registration Form
The Next Level camp is designed for the serious player, especially those desiring to play at the next level. Instruction will include the following: hitting fundamentals and strategies, advance defensive fundamentals and specific position breakdowns. Registration is set at $150 and includes instruction and demonstration by the ISU softball coaching staff, along with current and former players, as well as lunch, parking, insurance and a camp t-shirt.
Winter Pitching Clinic | Sunday, Nov. 11 & Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 | 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Grades 6-12 | $150 | Registration Form
The winter pitching clinic will give players an opportunity to learn pitching mechanics, in-game strategies and the importance of dominating the mental game on the mound. Pitching instruction will consist of intermediate and advanced techniques and concepts. Registration is $150 and includes instruction, insurance, parking and an ISU Redbird Softball t-shirt.
Winter Hitting Clinic | Sunday, Nov. 11 & Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 | 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. | Grades 6-12 | $150 | Registration Form
The winter hitting clinic will give players the opportunity to hit execute the fundamentals of hitting all pitch locations, as well as how to make adjustments during a ball game. Registration is $150 and includes instruction, insurance, parking and an ISU Redbird Softball t-shirt.
Winter Catching Clinic | Sunday, Nov. 11 | 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Grades 6-12 | $150 | Registration Form
The winter catching clinic will give players the opportunity to work on catcher set-up, learning how to work with your pitcher, game management, framing and blocking, evaluating hitters and throwing and fielding situations. Registration is $150 and includes instruction, insurance, parking and an ISU Redbird softball t-shirt.
Development Clinic | Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 | 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. | Grades 2-8 | $110 | Registration Form
The developmental clinic will provide a fun softball environment to help improve the fundamentals of any level player in the following areas: hitting, bunting, throwing, catching, pitching, position play, base running and sliding. Registration is $110 and includes lunch and a camp t-shirt.
