NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball program announced on Saturday that it will hold three sets of fall prospect camps for both position players and pitchers.
Starting on September 9th, there will be a pitcher-and catcher-only prospect camp, which will focus on giving both pitchers and catchers an opportunity to work with the current coaching staff.
The second camp is the Redbird developmental position player fall prospect camp. This camp is designed for both the defensive and offensive development of position players. There will be eight sessions of this camp throughout the months of September and October that high school and junior college athletes can choose from. High school and junior college athletes can choose from a one-to five-session package when signing up for this camp. Each session will be two hours long and will consist of batting practice, defensive drills, and a simulated live scrimmage. This will be the best opportunity for position players to get as many opportunities to showcase their talent, as well as get the repetitions in order to develop into a well-rounded baseball player.
The last prospect camp will be held on October 14th, and the camp will be a one-day camp that will be open to all players in high school and junior college. Each player will also receive an Illinois State Baseball shirt at the end of the camp.
Each camp will provide all campers the opportunity to hear about the academic, strength and conditioning, and mental aspects of Division I baseball, along with a tour of the ISU campus.
