NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving teams will be kicking off the New Year by returning home to Horton Pool this Saturday, January 12th to face off the Davenport University Panthers. The meet is set to begin at 12 p.m., as this will serve as the first dual of the calendar year for the Redbirds.Â
The Redbirds are eager to get back in the water at Horton Pool after their last home meet being a clean sweep against Omaha on Nov. 3.
"We are excited to get back to competition this weekend," said head diving coach Scott Cameron. "It's been over a month since our last meet, and this is a great way to get the second part of our season moving against a new, up-and-coming team."Â
"This meet will give us a chance to get meet ready after our training trip, as we prepare for the final leg of our season." head diving coach Phil Hoffmann added.Â
The Illinois State swimming and diving teams will be traveling to Iowa next weekend to compete in a pair of meets at Iowa State and UNI on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
