BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State men's head coach Dan Muller and women's head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by freshman guard Kayel Newland. The women's team (9-6, 2-2) hosts Southern Illinois and Missouri State in the upcoming weekend, kicking off a three-game homestand. Newland averages 4.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game on the season, and has played in each of the teams 15 games, coming off of the bench in each.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by senior guard Keyshawn Evans. The men's team (9-8, 2-2) hosts Southern Illinois on Tuesday, Jan. 15, in a 6 p.m. tip-off. Evans, who is averaging 7.1 points per game on the season, is off of a season-high 16 points on the road at Loyola over the weekend.
