NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team returns to Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena this weekend as they host Southern Illinois and Missouri State for week three of Valley play.
GAME INFORMATION VS. SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
Illinois State Redbirds (9-6, 2-2) vs. Southern Illinois Salukis (8-6, 1-2)
When: Friday, Jan. 18
Tip-Off: 7 p.m. CT
THE SERIES VS. SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
• The Redbirds are 57-43 overall when facing the Salukis. The 'Birds are 30-22 at home, 23-21 at Southern and 4-0 at a neutral site.
• The teams most recently met on Feb. 9 in Carbondale where the 'Birds captured a 39-36 victory. Illinois State swept the Salukis last season, earning a 49-46 win at Redbird Arena.
REDBIRD BITS
• Illinois State enters the contest after splitting the previous weekend with a 59-44 loss to Indiana State and a 72-61 victory over Evansville
• TeTe Maggett has not missed a shot from the free-throw line in the past six contests, going 29-for-29. The junior guard surpassed her personal best, scoring 29 points in 66-64 win over UNI. Additionally, she has received MVC Newcomer of the Week three times and swept the weekly honors the week of Jan. 2 earning Player of the Week.
• Simone Goods tallied her ninth career double-double against Indiana State Friday with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She now sits 15th all-time in ISU history for career double-doubles and is third in the Valley with five this season.
• Goods and Maggett account for 55 percent of ISU's scoring and are both in the top five in the Valley scoring 17.2 and 16.2 points per game, respectively.
SCOUTING THE SALUKIS
• The Salukis faced travel partner Missouri State last weekend and dropped a 15-point battle to the Bears.
• The team is led by Nicole Martin, who averages 15.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. The junior guard was a 2019 preseason All-MVC selection after garnering MVC First Team honors last spring.
• Brittney Patrick has dished out a league-high of 73 assists this season. On Sunday, Patrick finished with five assists to zero turnovers, which marked the third-straight game in which she hasn't turned the ball over.
• The Salukis finished the non-conference slate with a 7-4 (.636) record. Southern's .636 winning percentage is tied for the best winning percentage in non-conference play during the Cindy Stein era.

Illinois State Redbirds (9-6, 2-2) vs. Missouri State Bears (2-11, 0-2)
When: Sunday, Jan. 20
Tip-Off: 2 p.m. CT
THE SERIES VS. MISSOURI STATE
• The Redbirds are 31-43 overall against the Bears. The two are tied in Redbird Arena with 18 wins each, ISU is 12-23 at Missouri State and 1-2 at a neutral site.
• Illinois State has not defeated Missouri State since the 2013-14 season, and most recently fell to the team 75-58 on Feb. 11.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
• The Lady Bears have won six consecutive contests, averaging a +11.2 scoring margin.
• The team is led by the duo of Alexa Willard and Danielle Gitzen who each average just over 12 points a game.
• Missouri State ranks first, one spot above the 'Birds, in rebound margin for all games.
• MSU allows 58.3 points in conference games, while ISU leads the Valley with a 59.7 defensive average this season.
DADDY DAUGHTER DAY
The Illinois State women's basketball game against Missouri State on Sunday, Jan. 20 will feature a Daddy Daughter Day and Dance Clinic for children ages 4-12.
Prior to tip-off, daddy-daughter duos will have an abundance of activities to enjoy including, a photo booth, nail painting, cookie decorating and a How Well Do You Know Your Dad questionnaire. For only $6 attendees can enjoy a concession special featuring sparkling grape juice and a large popcorn during the game. Additionally, following the contest a daddy daughter dance will commence on Doug Collins Court.
