NORMAL, Ill. – After an away meet in Ames, Iowa, last weekend, the Illinois State women's gymnastics team returns home to host Southeast Missouri in its first home meet of the 2019 season on Friday, Jan. 25, in Horton Field House at beginning at 7 p.m.

"After being on the road for our first four meets of the season, we are really looking forward to competing in front of a home crowd for the first time this year. The team has had very consistent workouts this week in practice and is well prepared for strong performances on all four events Friday."
Against Southeast Missouri State:
The Redbirds competed in a meet against SEMO on Jan. 12, 2018 … The Redhawks won the meet with a score of 193.300, and the Redbirds earned a score of 191.175 … Gabrielle Cooke tied for first on the beam with a score of 9.700, tied for second on floor with a score of 9.800, and added a top-five finish on vault with a score of 9.700 …Alyssa Wiggle posted a solid performance on the uneven bars, finishing in a three-way tie for first place with a score of 9.725.
Redbird News and Notes:
The Redbirds were defeated by Iowa State 194.150-191.275 at Hilton Coliseum last weekend ... The Redbirds earned a season high on vault, earning a score of 48.450… Junior Gabrielle Cooke won the all-around competition with a score of 38.600, her second all-around win of the season … Senior Meredith LaRoche came in a three-way tie for first in vault with a 9.825 … LaRoche also had a top-5 finish on bars to cap off a solid night … Senior Kylie Meyer tied for first in beam with a 9.800…Savannah Remkus and Meyer also tied for fifth on beam with scores of 9.725
About The Redhawks:
Gabrielle Adams and Anna Kaziska combined for three individual event titles as Southeast posted a team score of 189.800 in its home opener last Friday night against San José State ... Kaziska was named MIC Newcomer of the Week for the second consecutive week, after she captured two event titles in SEMO's home opener with San José State ... Kaziska registered career-best marks on floor (9.900) and in the all-around competition (38.850).
