BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State men's head coach Dan Muller and women's head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by senior forward, Lexi Wallen. The women's team (8-5, 1-1) travels to Indiana for a two-game road swing with stops at Indiana State and Evansville this weekend. Wallen joined the team this winter after competing on the ISU volleyball team the past four seasons. The Champaign, Illinois native has quickly made an impact, adding double figures in both of ISU's contests this past weekend. Wallen added a new personal best in win over UNI on Friday with 14 points, and led the Redbirds on Sunday with 16 points in loss to Drake.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by junior guard Matt Chastain. The men's team (8-7, 1-1) hosts UNI on Tuesday, Jan. 8 with tip-off set for 7 p.m. Chastain has started the last two games and has helped ISU to the second lowest scoring defense allowed in MVC history.
