CARMEL, Ind. – Sophomore Maddi Exline and freshman Mackenzie Brownrigg were Illinois State's top finishers at the Bulldog Invite with both runners posting top-15 performances on Friday afternoon.
The duo ran together through the end with Exline just edging Brownrigg for the Redbirds' top spot. Exline completed the 5K circuit in 19:11.5 to place 13th overall, while Brownrigg crossed the finish line 14th overall with a time of 19:11.6.
Freshmen Kylie Hagmann and Kendy Ummel joined Exline and Brownrigg in the top-25 with Hagmann finishing 17th and Ummel finishing 24th overall for ISU. Hagmann recorded a time of 19:20.9 in the 5K and Ummel posted a personal-best time of 19:34.2, a 37-second improvement of her previous best time in the 5K.
Senior Mariah Brodie clocked in at 19:54.6 to place 28th overall, rounding out the scoring for the Redbirds.
As a group, Illinois State finished third as a team with 56 points.

The Redbirds will begin postseason competition on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships.
