The Illinois State soccer team has been recognized by United Soccer Coaches as a recipient of the Team Academic Award, as announced today. This is the seventh time in program history the team has been honored with the award.
This award is given annually to teams across the country for exemplary performance in the classroom. To be eligible, teams must have a minimum composite grade point average of 3.0. The Redbirds exceeded this minimum, combining for a 3.78 team GPA for the 2018-19 academic year.
A total of 992 college teams (345 men, 647 women) earned the Team Academic Award, including 257 schools who had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients.
