ST. LOUIS – Illinois State volleyball's Stef Jankiewicz is one of 10 student-athletes named as a State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award recipient for the Fall of 2019 by Commissioner Doug Elgin, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The standout setter carries a 3.65 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) as a criminal justice major, with a double minor in Spanish and psychology. The Farmington Hills, Michigan, native has already been recognized in the MVC's Enterprise Trust & Bank Scholar-Athlete Spotlight on Oct. 9 and was selected for the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award for the 2018-19 school year. The two-time MVC Honor Roll member has also earned a spot on Illinois State's AFNI Honor Roll in all four of her semesters.
In addition to her academic achievements, Jankiewicz has continued to make an impact in the Bloomington-Normal community and on Illinois State's campus. Some of her notable volunteer work includes:

In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition. The Valley will recognize 10 student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, spring), for a total of 30 honorees. Institutions select their State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award honorees.
