BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller and head women's basketball coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by junior guard Paige Saylor. The women's team (6-2 overall) hosts SIU Edwardsville this afternoon in the first of two consecutive education day games. Saylor comes into the pair of games this week averaging 3.8 points per game while dishing out 11 assists, grabbing nine steals and pulling down 18 rebounds.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by sophomore forward Rey Idowu. The Redbirds (4-6) host UIC on Wednesday evening, before closing the non-conference portion of the schedule on Saturday, Dec. 21 at UTSA. Idowu scored a career-high 14 points yesterday for the Redbirds against Northern Kentucky, and averages 6.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He has also dished out 10 assists and has made 56.9 percent (29-of-51) of his shots from the field this year.
