• Since Dan Muller has taken over as head coach, Illinois State has the best record within the state of Illinois (144-103).

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
UNI comes into the game receiving votes in the latest AP and Coaches Polls, and have won their last five games after a loss to West Virginia in the Cancun Challenge.
In the team's last game, an 88-80 home win against Marshall, AJ Green scored a team-high 24 points while Trae Berhow added a 23-point, 11-rebound double-double for UNI. Spencer Haldeman added 13 points with Isaiah Brown scoring 12 and Justin Dahl 10. Dahl had a team-high three blocked shots and two steals.
For the season UNI is led by a pair of scorers that are inside of the MVC's top-six in Green (16.6 points per game) and Berhow (15.5), as the pair stand third and sixth, respectively, in the MVC standings. Haldeman also averages in double-figures with 120 points over the 12 games, while Austin Phyfe (8.6) and Brown (8.5) are just behind the double-figure pace.
Phyfe has pulled down a team-best 79 rebounds, while Green paces the team with 40 assists. Phyfe has a team-high seven blocked shots, as Haldeman has 11 steals to pace the Panthers.

FLIPPING THE SCRIPT
Coming into Illinois State's game against UIS, the Redbirds had made just 61.9 percent of its free throws on the season, a total that ranked 314th of 350 teams in NCAA Division I. Against the Prairie Stars, the Redbirds went a perfect 15-of-15 at the charity stripe, the second-best single-game free throw shooting day in the country.
