Redbirds Fall in Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.– Illinois State hit half of its 44 shots from the field and out-rebounded Indiana State 27-to-26; however, could not overcome a season-high 20 turnovers in a 73-50 loss to the Sycamores on Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

Indiana State scored the first eight points of the game, including two of the team's 11 three-point field goals, and the Sycamores never trailed in the contest. Indiana State pushed back ahead and took a 16-point, 37-21 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Redbirds came out of the gate and out-scored Indiana State 13-8 to cut the gap to as few as 11 five minutes into the period; however, that would be as close as Illinois State would come, as the Sycamores secured the 23-point win.
