GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ali Domkuski and Morgan Day commanded the circle in Illinois State's 1-0 shutout against Florida A&M on Sunday in the Redbirds' Bubly Invitational finale.

BY THE NUMBERS / KEY INNINGS VS. FLORIDA A&M (W, 1-0)
- Starting pitcher Ali Domkuski and the Redbird defense held the Rattlers to just a single hit through the first three innings.
- Riley Hale set the tone offensively in the bottom of the third with a lead-off single for ISU's first hit. A sac bunt by Taylor Vanderpool pushed her into scoring position, before a single up the middle by Andrea Coursey scored Hale to give the Redbirds a 1-0 advantage.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Emme Olson registered ISU's fifth hit, becoming the fifth different Redbird to produce a hit in the game.
- ISU turned a 1-6-3 double play – the Redbirds' seventh double play of the season – to slam the door on the top of the sixth inning.
- Domkuski allowed just three hits and one walk to go with a trio of strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. Morgan Day checked into the circle in relief in the top of the seventh with a pair of runners on.
- Day fanned the first batter she faced, before a pop to Olson slammed the door on the seventh to give ISU the shut-out victory.
ON DECK
The Redbirds will continue its nonconference slate at the Purple & Gold Challenge, hosted by LSU, next weekend. ISU will take on SFA, USC Upstate, Indiana and the tournament host Tigers in the five-game set.
