NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State softball team will play its final nonconference game of the season tomorrow, when it travels to Chicago to take on DePaul. First pitch between the Redbirds and the Blue Demons is set for 4 p.m. at Cacciatore Stadium.
SERIES HISTORY
DePaul holds a slim 17-19-1 series advantage over Illinois State, taking the last three contests from ISU. The Redbirds have secured just three wins on the road against the Blue Demons, with their last victory on the road coming in 2013.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul enters Tuesday's game with an overall record of 28-9, winning nine of its last 10 games. The Blue Demons have fallen just once in Big East play, suffering an 8-1 setback to Butler on March 24. DePaul went 5-0 at a pair of tournaments to start the season, securing wins over Green Bay, Evansville, UMKC, Purdue Fort Wayne, New Mexico, Canisius College and Hawaii during that stretch.
LAST TIME OUT
Missouri State took a pair of games, 9-5 and 6-2, from ISU to close the Redbirds' eight-game home stand on Saturday. In the first game, Brittni LaFountaine launched her third home run of the season over the left field wall to push ISU ahead, before the Bears stormed back for the win. The Redbirds scored just once in the second inning, and again in the seventh inning, as the Bears held off ISU's rally to take game two of the series.
Allison Spence finished the two-game set with a team-best .714 batting average, turning in a 1.000 slugging percentage, .750 on-base percentage and 1.000 fielding percentage. She knocked two doubles in the first game of ISU's twin bill, registering two doubles in a single game for just the second time in her career.

Illinois State will travel to Des Moines, Iowa, this weekend for its first Missouri Valley Conference series on the road since March 23-24 to face the Drake Bulldogs on April 19-20.
