LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the second time in her career, Illinois State softball's Shannon Felde has earned a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's All-Mideast Region Third Team, the organization announced on Thursday.
The Redbirds switched from the All-Midwest to All-Mideast Region in 2009 and have placed at least one student-athlete on an all-region squad in seven of the last 10 seasons.
A two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team selection, Felde reached base safely in 45 of ISU's 51 contests in 2019, ending her senior campaign on an 11-game reached base streak. She also registered at least one hit in 39 of the Redbirds' outings. Felde was one of just two Redbirds to start all 51 games this season, as she led the team in batting average (.357) runs scored (36), hits (56), stolen bases (6) and walks (25). Additionally, Felde was recognized for her dedication in the classroom by becoming just the fifth Redbird in program history to be named a three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team selection.
