NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State baseball will return to action this weekend, when the team heads west on Interstate 74 to take on Bradley in Peoria. The Redbirds and Braves are scheduled to play at Dozer Park on Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m., with the series finale slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Illinois State Redbirds (28-20, 10-5 MVC)
The Redbirds come into the weekend on a two-game skid after a conference series loss against Indiana State. Illinois State still leads the Missouri Valley Conference in four different statistical categories as a team. The Redbirds lead the conference in batting average (.304), at-bats (539), hits (164), and doubles (36).
Bradley Braves (29-14, 9-6 MVC)
The Braves head into the weekend series after a conference series win against Valparaiso last weekend. Bradley is second trailing Illinois State in conference batting average (.292) and hits (14). Meanwhile, the Braves lead the Missouri Valley conference in triples (6) and home runs (18).
Series History
Illinois State leads Bradley in the all-time series, holding a narrow 113-105 advantage. The Braves won the series between the two teams last season in Normal, coming out victorious in the rubber match on Sunday.
