Illinois State Baseball Sets Dates for High School Prospect Camps

The Illinois State coaching staff has set the dates for two one-day high school prospect camps, as announced by Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year Steve Holm on Wednesday morning. The camps will be held at Duffy Bass Field, home of the 2019 MVC regular season champions and NCAA regional finalists, on Tuesday, July 2 and Wednesday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day will be split into a position player and pitcher portion.

Registration for position players will take place from 9-9:30 a.m., with the camp running until noon. Registration for pitchers is set for 1-1:30 p.m. with the pitching session running until 4 p.m.

Additionally, the Illinois State coaching staff will field all questions about the different aspects of what it takes to be a baseball student-athlete, including: the recruiting process, weight lifting, diet, time management, and many more topics. The Q&A session will begin at 12:30 p.m. and last until approximately 1 p.m. This informational portion is open to all campers.

Registration is $150 per player (pitcher or position player) and $200 to attend both the position player and pitcher sessions. Each camper will experience a day in the life of a college baseball player, while also receiving an official camp T-shirt, Rapsodo analytics (pitchers only), and a post-camp evaluation.

The program's high school prospect camps are great opportunities to be instructed and seen by the coaching staff at Illinois State. Each session will consist of position-specific instruction and informational sessions about strength training and NCAA rules. This camp is designed for serious high school players who want to find out what it takes to play at the collegiate level.

The Redbird coaching staff will also utilize a Rapsodo machine to give campers the option to review their analytical data. Each camper will receive an individualized evaluation from one of our staff members at the completion of the clinic providing feedback on areas to develop in preparation for the college game.

Online registration is open at www.collegebaseballcamps.com/redbirdbaseball
