NORMAL, Ill. – A rainy morning in Bloomington-Normal gave way to a dry but overcast afternoon for football at Hancock Stadium Saturday, as the Redbird football team held its annual Red-White Scrimmage as part of Welcome Week on campus.
Scrimmage Notes:
•   The scrimmage lasted nearly two hours and the offense ran a total of 57 plays, averaging nearly 4.3 yards per play.

Scoring Summary:
•   Jeff Proctor set up the first score of the day with a 19-yard run to put the ball on the 4-yard line, but the defense held and forced a 22-yard field goal make by Sam Fenlason.
•   Scoring was hard to come by the rest of the way until action moved into the overtime period, when Davis wasted little time connecting with Braxton Haley in the back of the endzone for a touchdown on the first play of the series.
•   The second-team unit was held out of the end zone, before the third-team unit was able to get Fenlason an opportunity from 43 yards and he proceed to split the uprights for his second field goal make of the day.
