NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head women's golf coach Breanne Hall has announced her program's 2019-20 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.
"I'm excited to kick off the season with our home tournament on September 8th and 9th," said Hall. "We have 17 teams competing this year, so it will be a good test against a strong field. I have added a few new tournaments this year that will allow us to compete against other MVC teams throughout the fall and spring season. A highlight of our fall season will be the Hawaii Invitational as that will be a great experience for our student-athletes. The spring season is designed to challenge the team as we prepare for the MVC Championship."
The home tournament kicks off for the ninth consecutive season at the Weibring Golf Club with the Redbird Invitational, an event which saw ISU place seventh a season ago.
Two weeks later the team travels to Burlington, Iowa, to compete in the MVC Preview, hosted by UNI on Monday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept. 24. The following week the team goes back on the road with the three-day Johnie Imes Invitational from Sept. 30 until Oct. 2.
The fall season ends with the Dayton Invitational (Oct. 14-15) and the Rainbow Wahine Invitational (Oct. 28-30), a pair of events that the Redbirds are competing in for the first time.
Following the winter break, the team travels to Lakewood Ranch, Florida on Feb. 3-4 to compete in the Mid-American Match Play Challenge, an event that ISU went 2-1-1 last season.
The Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational in Rio Verde, Arizona follows two weeks later (Feb. 21-23), the seventh consecutive season the Redbirds have competed in this early-spring event.
A first-time appearance at the Lady Cat Invitational, hosted by Bethune-Cookman on Mar. 12-13 follows, before the squad returns to Arizona to compete in the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Arizona.
The season ends with back-to-back tournaments in the Midwest, as the team travels to compete in the Diane Daugherty Invitational on Apr. 5-6, and the MVC Championships on Apr. 19-21. This season the conference championships are hosted at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.
