Illinois State soccer's favorite teammate, 11-year-old Halle Bloom, made her debut at Adelaide Street Field prior to Friday's home match versus Utah State. Halle fights a rare tumor in her brain and receives treatment locally at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Peoria. In her first appearance for the Redbirds, Halle scored her first career goal, taking possession of the ball immediately at kickoff, dribbling into the box, and firing it into the back of the net. She is the youngest ISU soccer player to ever score a goal at Adelaide Street Field.
