BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller and head women's basketball coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap the past week of Missouri Valley Conference play and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by junior guard Juliunn Redmond. Redmond is coming off of a game in which she made 7-of-12 shots from the field and 3-of-4 from long range for 20 points - the second-highest of her career. This season Redmond is averaging 8.5 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per contest. Off of a one-game week which saw the Redbirds fall to Bradley, the women's basketball program (10-4 overall) will head to Valparaiso on Friday, Jan. 17 and Loyola on Sunday, Jan. 19.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by senior guard Ricky Torres. The Redbirds (6-10 overall) dropped both games of the week with losses to Missouri State and Indiana State. Torres has dished out a team-best 50 assists this season while averaging 5.0 points and pulling down 40 rebounds. He dished out a season-high seven rebounds against Missouri State on Jan. 7. This week, the men's basketball team travels to Drake on Thursday, Jan. 16 before hosting Loyola Chicago on Sunday, Jan. 19 in a game broadcast on ESPNU.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's shows live at the Hy-Vee Market Grille, located at 1403 North Veterans Parkway, in Bloomington. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230-AM and on GoRedbirds.com.
