Illinois State Athletics to Host First-Ever Pride Night

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Athletics will hold its first-ever Pride Night on Friday, Jan. 24 at the women's basketball game versus reigning Missouri Valley Conference regular season champions, Drake. Tip-off with the Bulldogs is set for 7 p.m. at Redbird Arena.

Pride Night will recognize LGBTQ+ efforts in the Bloomington-Normal community, shining a light on education, resources and events on ISU's campus, specifically through the Dean of Students Office and the LGBTQ+ Student Support Fund. Illinois State Athletics values and celebrates differences among people, ideas and cultures, and is committed to inclusivity and diversity in the community.

A total of 600 one-of-a-kind ISU Redbird rainbow koozies will be available for fans in attendance. Additionally, the Alamo II will be at the game with a variety of Illinois State Pride items available for purchase, and $2 from every on-site purchase will be donated to the LGBTQ+ Student Support Fund.

In-game promotions include "Did You Know?" campus insight questions during timeouts and Pride trivia at halftime, using the Illinois State Athletics app. One lucky fan will receive a Pride pack for their participation.

Fans who RSVP for the Facebook event in advance will also have the chance to win prizes.
