NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Athletics is looking for assistance from singers who would like to be featured at a game at Redbird Arena this winter. Unfortunately, live performances are not permitted at this time for Redbird basketball and volleyball home games, but fans will have the opportunity to submit their performances to be played prior to contests for student-athletes, coaches and staff in attendance.
Any fans wishing to be featured this season are asked to record audio performing the national anthem and emailing it directly to ISU Athletics Marketing Graduate Assistant PJ McLees (at_pamclee@ilstu.edu). Performers chosen by staff to be featured at a men's basketball, women's basketball or volleyball game this winter will receive a small gift as a token of appreciation from Redbird Athletics for the support during this unique season.
Options for recording the performance include:
•   The voice recorder app that comes standard on most smartphones or another external voice recording device.
•   A simple smartphone video submission.Â
•   A YouTube video performing the National Anthem.
All performances are required to be submitted by Dec. 4, 2020. For more information or clarification, reach out to McLees (at_pamclee@ilstu.edu) or call (309) 438-3399.
