ST. LOUIS - The early January series between the Illinois State Redbirds and the Valparaiso Crusaders men's basketball programs has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 test results among the Valparaiso team's personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff. The Conference will announce make-up dates for the series/games at a later date.
Earlier this week the Valparaiso vs. Bradley weekend series was paused, as was its Dec. 21 game against Mt. St. Joseph.
MVC athletically-related activities will take place only to the extent permitted by local environments and applicable national, state, local and institutional guidelines in order to safeguard the health and safety of participants, staff and fans. Schedule updates throughout the season will be posted on GoRedbirds.com.
Illinois State has two games this weekend with a Sunday/Monday series against Loyola Chicago, as the Sunday contest at 3 p.m. will be broadcast on the MVC TV Network, and the Monday game at 6 p.m. will be telecast on CBS Sports Network.
