NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head volleyball coach Leah Johnson announced on Thursday that the Redbirds' 2020 spring competition schedule has been finalized, with a pair of home matches on the slate and three contests against Big Ten opponents.
The Redbirds will open their spring schedule with a contest against Northwestern on Feb. 29 at 5 p.m. in the North Gym located at Horton Field House on ISU's campus. Illinois State will hit the road for a pair of contests at Iowa (March 28) and Illinois (April 15), before closing out the competitive slate against Saint Louis at Redbird Arena on April 25 at 1 p.m.
Illinois State won its 11th Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Title in 2019, making its second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 15th overall. The Redbirds are coming off their fourth 20-win season in five years and third-straight that resulted in tournament play under the direction of Johnson. ISU will return a trio of all-conference players in Stef Jankiewicz, Sydney Holt and Kaylee Martin for the 2020 season. Season tickets are now available as a part of the program's 'Raise the Banner' campaign.
