RIO VERDE, Ariz. – After placing sixth at the Mid-American Match-Play Challenge, the Illinois State women's golf team competes in its opening stroke-scoring event of the 2020 calendar year, traveling to Rio Verde, Arizona, to compete in the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan University.

History at the Event: From 2006-07 through the 2008-09 season the Redbirds appeared at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational. After a four-year absence, Illinois State returned to the tournament for the 2013-14 season, and have played in the tournament every season since. Last season the Redbirds tied for 12th of 18 teams in the tournament over the two rounds of the tournament, after the additional round was canceled due to inclement weather. Becca Black played to six strokes over par to tie for 13th overall.
Next Time Out: On March 12-13 the Redbirds head to Daytona Beach, Florida, to compete in the Lady Cat Invitational, hosted by Bethune Cookman at the LPGA International Golf Course.
