BATON ROUGE, La. – The Illinois State softball team (10-9) used a complete-game effort from Morgan Day in the circle to open the LSU Round Robin with a 4-1 win over Campbell (10-11).

BY THE NUMBERS / KEY INNINGS
- Campbell jumped on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the opening frame, despite a trio of early strikeouts by Morgan Day.
- A two-out double by Mack Leonard in the top of the fourth leveled the score at one-all, as Kadi Borries crossed home plate for the Redbirds.
- Andrea Coursey lifted a two-RBI homer over the left field wall to give ISU a 3-1 edge in the fifth.
- In the top of the seventh, the Redbirds extended their lead by a run, as Alyssa Wiebel went yard and lifted a home run over the left field wall.
- Day struck out the side in the bottom of the final frame, finishing with 12 in the game, to give ISU the 4-1 win.

Illinois State will continue the LSU Round Robin tomorrow with a pair of contests against Campbell (11 a.m.) and the nationally-ranked Tigers (4 p.m.) Â
