JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Behind a solid pitching performance, Illinois State (6-8) took the final game of the Jacksonville Invite with a 4-1 victory over the host Dolphins (7-9) Saturday evening. The Redbirds also totaled 15 team hits in the win.

Scoring Breakdown:
- The Dolphins got on the board first with a sacrifice fly in the second inning to make it 1-0.
- Illinois State took the lead in the third inning with two runs on three hits. Jordan Libman and Gunner Peterson each had run-scoring singles in the frame.
- Jeremy Gaines knocked in a run with an RBI triple down the right field line to make it 3-1 in the fourth inning.
- Jake McCaw added a solo home run in the sixth inning to make it 4-1.
