NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head women's basketball coach Kristen Gillespie announced that DeAnna Wilson has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Redbirds starting in the 2020-21 season.
"We are thrilled to add DeAnna as the final piece to our 2020 recruiting class," said Gillespie. "DeAnna is a fierce competitor that will have a chance to make an immediate impact on our program. Her ability to score in a variety of ways will add another dimension to our front court."
DeAnna Wilson | Forward | 6-2 | St. Louis, Mo. | Moberly Area Community College
- Averaged 15.6 points and 9.7 rebounds in her debut season for Moberly, helping the Greyhounds go 29-4 and qualify for the national championship tournament (was not played)
- Named a Division I NJCAA All-American during the 2019-20 season
- Tallied 19 double-doubles while shooting 52.5 percent from the field
- Previously played for Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School in St. Louis
Wilson joins Fantasia Baines (South Holland, Ill./Thornwood HS), Jasmine McGinnis-Taylor (Omaha Neb./Omaha Westside HS) and Kate Bullman (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central HS) as newcomers to the 2020-21 squad. More info on her future teammates can be found in the November release.
