NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows presented by Bud Light, featuring Illinois State men's basketball head coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight. Fans can listen on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap last week's games and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by sophomore forward DeAnna Wilson. Wilson posted her first career double-double in Thursday's 73-48 win over Evansville, netting 12 points and grabbing 13 boards in just 17 minutes of action. The St. Louis native is averaging 7.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in her first season with the Redbirds.
The women's basketball team (8-3, 5-3 MVC) will wrap up its five-game homestand on Wednesday as they host I-74 rival Bradley at Redbird Arena. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Leudke. Muller will be joined by guard Howard Fleming Jr. The freshman led the team in rebounding in both games versus Valparaiso over the weekend, pulling down a career-high 10 boards and adding a team-high four assists and two steals on Saturday. Then, he went on to put up nine points and grab six rebounds in Sunday evening's rematch with the Crusaders.
The men's basketball team (5-10, 2-7 MVC) heads to Des Moines, Iowa this weekend to take on the undefeated Drake Bulldogs on Sunday, Jan. 31 and Monday, Feb. 1. Tip-off on Sunday is slated for 2 p.m. with Monday scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
