NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State volleyball team (3-2, 1-0 MVC) will turn its focus back to Missouri Valley Conference play on Monday, traveling to Bradley (0-1, 0-1 MVC) for its final of two matches in the home-and-home series with the Braves this spring.

SERVING UP A SWEEP
After falling in four sets on Friday night, the Redbirds responded by sweeping the Cincinnati Bearcats at Redbird Arena on Saturday afternoon. Illinois State used a career-best performance from freshman Kaitlyn Prondzinski, who tallied 12 kills on .455 hitting, while the Redbirds delivered nine service aces, led by Sarah Kushner (4).
WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY
Heading into the weekend, Illinois State ranked second in the nation in blocks per set, while redshirt freshman Nicole Lund was leading the Redbird charge at the net with the third-most blocks per set average in NCAA Division I. Illinois State has out-blocked each of its opponents this season.
REDBIRDS RECEIVING VOTES IN AVCA POLL
Illinois State is receiving votes in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll, which was announced by the organization on Jan. 26. This is the second time the Redbirds have been mentioned in the poll since fourth-year head coach Leah Johnson took the reins in 2017. Illinois State has made 15 appearances in the AVCA's top 25 in program history – once in 2019, 12 times in 1984 and twice in 1983 – the first year the poll was published.
