NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team will host its second annual Dugout Club Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Brown Ballroom located on the first floor of the Bone Student Center. Doors open and silent auction begins at 6:00 pm. Dinner and program begin at 6:30 pm. To register use promo code "Dugout22" and go to bit.ly/DugoutClubDinner2022.
Redbird alumni Matt Herges (1990-92), an 11-year MLB player and four-year MLB coach, and Ryan Court (2007-11), who made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2019, will be featured in the program.
Illinois State baseball added to its program history in 2021 with alum Owen Miller making his MLB debut with the Cleveland Guardians. Additionally, Colton Johnson was drafted in the 16th round by the Oakland Athletics while Hayden Jones signed with the Cincinnati Reds as a free agent.
The 2021 team recorded a top-25 win over Indiana State and a Power Five win over Missouri as Jake McCaw was the only male to receive the Missouri Valley Conference's most prestigious academic award, the 2021 Dr. Charlotte West Award. Teammate Ryan Cermak was named MVC Defensive Player of the Year after transitioning to center field, in addition to earning Freshman All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
The dinner features both live and silent auctions and proceeds from the event benefit Redbird Baseball and their efforts to purchase an automated computerized pitching machine.
Auction items include Chicago Cubs or Chicago White Sox ticket package, exclusive autographed items and more.
Reservations are $100 per person or $800 for a table of eight. For $1,000 as a Grand Slam Partner, guests can reserve prime seating with eight guests and two Redbird Baseball Players. This level includes an invitation to the exclusive Pre-Event Social with Coaches, VIPs and players. Additionally, guests can be a $300 Event Partner as a donation to the Dugout Club. As an event partner, program recognition is included at the event.
