JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Due to copious amounts of rain and unfavorable field conditions, Illinois State's final two games of the River City Leadoff against Clemson and Jacksonville have been cancelled.
The Redbirds went 1-1 at the event, securing a season-opening 4-0 win over North Florida on Thursday, before falling to Clemson, 11-0, on Friday morning. Senior Morgan Day pitched the complete game shutout, tossing 12 strikeouts while allowing just a single hit and trio of walks. Fellow senior Andrea Coursey and rookie Madi Bylak led the way at the plate for ISU this weekend, each going 2-for-5, while Mack Leonard turned in a team-best three walks.
