NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows presented by Bud Light, featuring Illinois State men's basketball head coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight. Fans can listen on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap last week's games and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by junior guard Kayel Newland. Newland has played in every game this year for the Redbirds, recording a season-high eight points in ISU's opener versus Saint Xavier.
The women's basketball team (10-6, 7-6 MVC) continues it's homestand as it welcomes Drake into Redbird Arena on Friday, Feb. 19 and Saturday, Feb. 20. Tip-off for both games is set for 4 p.m.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Leudke. Muller will be joined by freshman forward Alston Andrews. Andrews had four points in Saturday's win at Southern Illinois, also grabbing six boards. The freshman has played in 10 games during his debut season as a Redbird, averaging 2.5 points per contest.
The men's basketball team (6-15, 3-12 MVC) will take on the Bradley Braves in part two of the I-74 rivalry series in Peoria, Ill. on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m.
